The castle museum is open daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the ticket office closing at 6:30 PM.
During the low season (October 1 – March 31), hours shift slightly: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, last entry 5:30 PM.

Tickets

  • Adults: €12 – 15
  • EU citizens 18 – 25: €2
  • Children under 18: Free
  • Free admission on the first Sunday of every month

Audio guides (Italian, German, English, French, Spanish) are available for €4, about 60 minutes long.
It’s smart to book online, especially in summer or weekends — timed entry slots keep things sane.

Park Access

The 22-hectare park is free and open all year, with seasonal hours:

  • January: 8 AM – 4 PM
  • February: 8 AM – 5 PM
  • March: 8 AM – 6 PM
  • April – September: 8 AM – 7 PM
  • Oct 1–14: 8 AM – 6 PM
  • Oct 15–31: 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Nov – Dec: 8 AM – 4 PM

Special Tours

Some corners open only with a guide:

  • The Castelletto – a smaller twin of the castle, now open again after restoration.
  • Historic Kitchens – cast-iron stoves, London burners, even a dumbwaiter system.
  • The Ducal Bath – Duke Amedeo’s seaside changing booth (yes, with a view).

Amenities

  • Caffè Massimiliano – opens at 9 AM, closes an hour before park gates.
  • Bookshop – redesigned, wheelchair-friendly, right in the lobby.
  • Electric Shuttles – small open cars to get you up the hill or around the park.
  • BioMa – marine museum in the old stables, part of the Marine Protected Area.

Quick Tips

  • Go early. The morning light on the bay is unbeatable.
  • Wear proper shoes — the woodland paths get slippery after rain.
  • Keep your ticket if you plan to re-enter the park later.
  • Grab the audio guide if you like stories more than labels.

That’s it. You’re set. Just remember: the sea breeze is stronger than it looks, and the gelato near the café is dangerously good.
